Im going to Winton for a test day on Friday 11th Feb.

Just thought i`d let others know incase someones keen to do some laps.

Cost is $130. plus $50 if you havnt already got a basic licence.

Gates open at 8am. Practice from 10 till 4. You get about 6 20min sessions.

Cheaper than a sprint day but with more laps,

Who is it organised through? Love to do something like this once I've actually got a motor!
Could always bring down the Q5 and give it a run I spose. 20 inch tyres v's high speed cornering = $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ = not gunna happen!

Winton Motor Racway have them set in their calender, nearly every friday. They are run with minimum staff. Each hour is divided evenly between bikes,open wheelers and sedans (20 min sessions).

There is no scruteneering either.

Na, the 80% days are the "Fun Days" usually run on a sunday. The cost for the fun days is $30 or $50.
I have done a couple years ago when not too many turned up for them, but lately, hundreds turn up. too crazy for me.

Friday sessions are more for suspension/chassis setup. You never realy know what sorts of cars will be there, often a couple of HQ`s, commodore cup cars, formula ford and V`s, Improved production cars. maybe a GT3 or V8 fujitsu car.
You just have to keep an eye on the rear vision mirror for the faster cars comming up on you and give them room.

That is not real optomistic Simon . They should be looking in the mirrors for you. Have done a couple of these days as well and the variety of racecars is great.

Ha Ha, mmmm maybe not. I wish i was as fast as a GT3 tho. 1.43`s last time out. The ultimate goal is 1.37.6. Thats the lap record for U2lts IP. Somehow i dont think the A12 will be up to it

well simon, you dropped 7 seconds off your previous best in the coupe last time you went out, all you gotta do is be consistent
