#1 A series E-series head update.
Rallytwit Posted on: 2011/2/28 4:02
Well about a week ago I picked up some the modded A14 blocks from one of the guys who ran them in there D-Sports Racers (single seater). So here is what I know so far. First these motors ran dry sump oiling and crank fire ignition. The A series camshaft is not run at all. The cam-hole as a special plug with a stud for mounting of an idler pulley for the E Series head. The deck on the block has quite a few mods. At the back there is a piece added to support the E-series head. The push rod holes are all filled except three that match the holes in the E-series head where (I think) the oil drains back into the block. The timing cover is modded to seal off the oil pan and the toothed pulley is used on the crank versus the sprocket normally fitted. I had wanted to have pictures to post but had several events this week. I'll try and get them up this week................it's hard to describe some of the stuff.

From the local ones raced here the original cam was kept to power the oil pump
and distributor. Sounds good to have oil drain into original pushrod holes.
