Hi,

Im going to attempt widening my tunnel. I bought the maddat tunnel and im wondering if anyone has tips for installing the new tunnel. If anyone has engineer approval for doing it what were the requirements?

Cheers

My engineer said :

". Tunnel welding - Preference for spot welding but will accept 'chain' welding (1 inch welding 1.5 inches space between welds) welding to be on both sides of tunnel (top and underneath). "

you can have a look in my build thread (DEMAC's 1200 UTE)

I lubed yours up nice and proper ziggy, yours warped from friction burns though.

I used same engineer demacoz. He prefered the spot weld method with mastic in between to prevent rusting.

So I assume rust repair sections should be welded the same?
Can you do a continuous weld around a repair section on one side only?

I might have to do some more welding :)
