#1 EOI A series steampipe turbo manifold
DISCO_BOB Posted on: 2011/9/15 5:34
Have a new (just fabricated)high mount turbo manifold to suit Aseries.
This was made for a customerthat has changed their mind.
made with a cylon flange(chris), steam pipe bends, merge collector,T25 flange.
this is a pretty serious manifold.Designed to fit a 1200.
fits A14 A15 slight mod to suit A12(due to lower deck height on block).
open to serious offers by PM only.
will post pics tonight.(sh#t internet at work)

can you post a photo looking down the collector?

Where do the twin sidedraft webers go Bob? :)
Great looking work and welds!!!
Are the holes just in view on the turbo flange
for extra support brackets?

Would be interested to hear what you were planning for a inlet plenum or manifold? It looks very tight in there, or was the inlet manifold going to straddle the turbo manifold (with the plenum snug up against the strut tower- under the turbo)? Nice design for cross flow heads & beautifully made.

I've sent you a PM.

Chris

you could wrap the intake over the head and onto the other side. Would give long intake runners and fee up some space, and make fitting an intercooler eaiser.

Yeah there are several options you could take. I just wanted to know what the fabricator had in mind, if he fabricates something that neat he obviously had something good planned for the delivery, that's what I'd like to hear more about(and of course, how much/price).

its a proper laser cut merge collector will take a photo down the outlet tomorrow.
the inlet manifold isn't finished yet(still waiting on parts)
-using a cylon(chris)oval port(can use round haven't stated yet) flange.
32mm id alloy tube(still trying to get bends)that goes over the rocker cover to the other side into a oem plenumn using a GM throttlebody (50mm?)(can't remember).
the idea was to keep runners skinny(not to skinny), IC pipe to match throttle opening, have the only step in pipe ID from turbo outlet, to minimise lag(for want of a better term (pressure drop?))
anyway EX manifold is fully TIG welded, all arms were welded off the manifold too minimise stress on joints, all tacked up,then welded onto merge collector, then removed from head flange, arms made even(flat)then welded(bolted tight to head)to flange. has been painted with heat paint.
the 2 bolt holes were on the T25flange, you could run a brace off it but i think i could stand on it (steam pipe is strong).
