Fuel Sendor Connections

Hi Guys
i see there are 3 connections to the Fuel Sendor at the tank like these are what are these 3 about ? i got only 1 connection on my b210 , the removed wire is the dash gauge sender which i cleaned it and fixed it is working fine now,what are the others ? i got a Fuel indicator bulb at dash gauge one would be for it ? then the other connector ? thanks regards sumith

That looks as if someone added a third wire.
Normally there are two: 1. Black earth/ground wire 2. Yellow signal wire

Hi Sumith,
I cannot see it in the photo. Can you take a closer picture? There is fuel gauge in the large circular gauge cluster.

Here it is Left Side Fuel and right side Door Indicator addition to main cluster indicator. thanks regards sumith

That is not a gauge, but rather a warning lamp. It is a 'low fuel' warning lamp. It is possible that is what the third wire on the fuel tank sender is for.

Thanks, that is what i also thought it is not working could be bad wiring or burned bulb, thanks regards sumith

Do you own a test light ? its for checking electrical connections - if not buy one of those along with the tuning equipment Dave suggested in the other thread. You can use it to trace wiring circuitry & everything else.

I always use an ohms meter and a a long wire with alligator clamps on each end. That way I can check a wire from one of the car to the other.
