mrtokyodrift Posted on: 2011/12/22 17:54
hey guys,
i just recently got my full liscence and have saved while on my ps to start a project car. i have always like datsun 1200 utes and find it upsetting that i do not see any on the streetswhere i live. i am aiming to build an everyday 1200 ute that will also catch up with the other tuned cars on the road. any suggestions on which motors would be the less hastle or easiest to maintain and suitable
for a first time project car?i have had heaps of suggestion but i was going to leave it up to te experts.
thanks for your time and comments.
when starting i will be posting photos and info through out the process aswell to assist future people in the processes i will take

Without a doubt, the A12:
* Least hassle
* Easiest to maintain
* Suitable for a first time project car
With the A12, you can spend more time on getting the suspension and appearance customized to your liking, and less time working on the engine.

In Australia, you are best to get an A14, and if you already have the front mounted distributor in the ute, just switch over the engine. And enjoy the clearly better torque/power without the need for engineers certificate. If the A12 is good, do start with suspension.

You need to be sure the 1200 is what you want to spend your dollars on. Don't let your car be another of those 'unfinished projects' that you've paid the experts to half build for you.
