1. Disc brakes. Your choices are many starting with 1200 Coupe strut/brake assembly. That also will fit the largest brakes as the largest 280ZX rotors bolt on to it. For choices, see Brake Swaps.
2. Bigger wheels. The best strut is the 1200 struts. All the other choices push the wheels outboard.

Research the 250mm ca18/s13 brake upgrade. Has minimal 10mm increase in track each side and brakes are great! After Ange took me for run in his ute, better option than stanza etc. Tomos n14 vented and 4spot sumitomos are also good brakes. But that's on stanza/200b set up.
Lots of us have used successfully the stanza/200b brakes etc and the increase in track IMHO is nothing negative. Made my front end slower to turn with increased castor but more stable too

The increased track is nothing negative, but reduces the fitting of wider wheels. The stock struts will let you fit slightly wider wheels and you can fit larger brakes to stock struts than the 250mm ca18/s13 brakes. The S13 struts have other advantages however. Yes, read up. Start with Brake Swaps and Strut Swaps.

I'm going to be looking into a few setup like the 120y/s13 ca brake setup and also the vented 4spots setup, as I have 240z setup to so will sort the best setup, also thinking of maybe the r32 setup as I have them to so will keep posted in my build thread I think

ok cool, so after a little bit of research I wanna do the 1200 disc struts with 280ZX rear discs...
Does anyone still manufacture these struts brand new or do I have to go with a second hand set, if so, off what? Cheers, Tidy.

Off a 1200 coupe. Can get inserts new but not struts. That's also why use other struts, can be easier to find.
Later model utes had disks too I think

You generally don't buy new struts even for the newer cars. Buy used ones.
Late utes came with disc brakes, but only 1989-up models.

supafatto, this is a 120Y strut with S13 brakes? Is a good swap. Maybe you can find out which specific 120Y parts to use. There were Japan-built 120Y and Australia-built 120Y and they used considerably different brakes. And possibly two different AUS-built brake systems (some mention after July 1976, others mention 1978, but AUS-built started earlier than that). It's also not clear if the struts themselves were different.
