#1 Source for stock A15 pistons with 10cc or less dish??
Rallytwit Posted on: 2012/1/24 2:47
Here is the scoop, I'm looking for stock A15 pistons with 10cc dish or less, I think the correct part number 12010-H9704. Motor is currently standard bore. Basically I'm looking for a 10-1 compression ratio, will be using the GX head off my A12 and a GX head gasket ...if I can find the pistons................otherwise it's likely time for forged pistons.

I saw Stewart Wilkins has some on their site (inquired as to specs). PJZ has some used forged pistons but I'm trying to avoid machine shop cost.

Are those std B-210 Slugs ?

What years are they found in ?

I'm 4 Time Zones away instead of 12

they are a std replacement a15 cast pistons/rings with 12cc dish.same comp height/same pin size/same everything. have used 100's of them all good, also can make up full rebuild kits,pistons/rings/cr,mains,cam bearings/gaskets/timing chain, tensioner.(performance bits also available)to suit your sizes you need. cheers

When I checked abour four years ago, Wiseco would make custom cast (not forged) pistons for $100/each. Any bore, pin height you want.

Nissan lists 12010-H9704 for $55/each in their 2010 catalog.

I can find stock pistons but they are all 12cc dish, which if I go up to 78mm would get the compression to 9.91-1 which would be close enough. I actually ordered a couple from various sources ($10 close outs) but to no avail.

I tried the part numbers for 210 and 310. Basically I'm trying to do this on my usual uber-cheap budget. If I just go as is compression will be 9.37-1,realistically going to 10-1 will probably only bring about 4-5hp but the goal is 100 RWHP (current A12 is about 80).

Of course I should stop dorking around and attempt build a proper motor that is in the 120 RWHP range. Using the cylinder head on the A12 would keep the cost down, maybe as low as $1200-1500......proper pistons being the bulk of it.

I understand that the GA16DE piston has been used in A15s with the downside being the need to surface the block. They seem to be cheaper and more available for stock-type cast. Thoughts?

The GA16 pistons are very close but rather than resurface the block I think it would be better to just bite the bullet and buy parts that fit.
