Datsuns in the Pacific

Just got around to going through my photos from when I was in Vanuatu and found this. Apparently it is the only 1200 in Pt Vila, owned by a woman (who wanted to know what I why I was taking pics...) who runs restaurants there. Apparently it gets lots of attention and offers to buy it. Looks in pretty good shape and the first LHD one I've seen.

Sweet!
I've never seen an LHD one either. Maybe it came from Okinawa?

Are you in Fiji now? Try to get a photo of the 1200 taxi.

Perhaps Datsun in the South Pacific - would be a better title? Or Datsuns in the Pacific Islands?
Well these aren't anything like that beauty but hey, it's the pacific and the environment is tough. Here are a serious of Datsuns all salvaged for repair and resto. They used to be extremely popular here but the difficulty of getting spares has seen many of them simply parked and left. Of the good condition ones I have seen parked most of the problems are bad carby or bad dizzie. Yes, even those parts are hard to find here. Anyway, some images:

such a shame that they are sitting outside in the weather ,lwb utes should be rescued and shipped to oz where all the parts are!
if only there was as many lwb utes over here as there are in PNG!

Please do. I have seen a fair few 1200 utes in PM, there is even one parked outside the international terminal staff car park.
As for New Ireland there are only a couple of wrecks heading to Namatanai. There was talk of a 240z there but I haven't seen it there and I work there a fair bit. You can view topic.
