What people's views on solex carbies compared to the likes of webers?
Have people used them, what have they been like all the usual questions

I had a pair on a Celica 2TG that I used to have. I regard them as Jap Webers, though slightly inferior in their assembly (e.g. Webers have roller bearings for the butterfly shaft, Solex's don't). But that's not something that affects performance, they're still great carbs.

By Solex do you mean a downdraught or Mikuni-Solex sidedraft?

I have twin mikuni-solex and they are awesome. The quality looks excellent. Mikuni PHH, Webers DCOE and Dellorto DHLA are fairly equal, just some small differences. Just don't buy a worn out carby.
