Low Oil Light Coming On @ Idle

Hey guys, I removed my oil pump on my a15 this afternoon to replace the leaking gasket. Cleaned it all out with degreaser and all that.
Now i refitted it and the low oil pressure light comes on the dash at idle and low revs. I have since removed the pump and refitted it multiple times, still does the same... I have dismantled the pump, and everything is like new. Does anyone know what the problem could be? The engine was apparently rebuilt about 20,000km ago. Maybe i need thicker oil? ( I use 15w-40 and change it regularly ) Does anyone know what Pressure in PSI the light comes on at? Ive read that anything below 10PSI at idle is dangerously low. Any help would be great

Hooking up a pressure guage to the oil sender hole might be a good idea to see what it's actually doing. Have you checked the clearance between the housing and pump rotating parts? Has this problem started after changing the gasket? Could be as simple as the gasket is too thick....
