How to DIY wheel polishing??
I need some pointers, just got some longchamps off tidy_1200 and want to clean them up and paint the centers up so they are like new but I'm looking for an easy way to polish them up as I'm not sitting there with wet and dry sanding them! Any kinda of air tool that will do it??

Befor you start you have to remove the clear and then go from there.very #OOPS# and long job better gettin them blasted

there's no quick way if you want them looking new, if you use an air tool with sand paper you'll most likely put low spots in them and they'll look #OOPS#. if you use an air tool with just a polishing pad it will most likely take the same amount of time as it would to give it a scuff and polish. another thing you could do is pickel them but i've got the feeling that somehow that weakens the wheel

You can buy a polishing kit from Mitre 10 that has two wheels and two blocks of polishing grit.
It's a matter of using the course wheel and block to do the initial pass and get out any larger imperfections and then swap to the softer cloth wheel and finer grit to get a mirror finish. It still takes awhile to do and the issue I have had is that if your not extremely careful at some point you end up putting a scratch in the part when you touch it with the spinning metal mounting plate....I can show you if you come to look at the front bar!

soda blast and powder coat?
Don't know how cost worthy it would be though....

go buy some purple polish roughly $25 a bottle 1 bottle should do it fine..there a 2 pics of a before and after on mine you just have to polish them once every 2 or 3 weeks they came up well i reckon..Goodluck

that purple polish is probably the go if they are in good condition to start with

if you get a good shine going i think it would be best to hit them with a clear coat paint after that to prevent needing the regular polish

i did claire's set with an air tool, using a resin type sanding disc, it was too aggressive, i then worked through 400,800,1200 wet and dry sand paper. They did look good when done although there was some odd shapes due to the air tool. But they don't look great anymore as i never touched them again after
