1972 Datsun1200 factory door latch...Painted from factory, or not?

Hello, I need your help on a question. I have a 1972 1200 coupe. Were the factory door latch mechanisms that are mounted on the body for the door latches to lock to when the door is closed, painted from the factory, or not? Thank you in advance for your thoughts on this. =)

I have owned (and still own) several 1200 coupes and they have ALL had painted latches from the factory. Some of my coupes still have their original paint, never been resprayed, so I know that the latches were painted from the factory. Maybe it depends which factory they were built in :/

Some Coupes were built in the Subaru factory, others built at Zama factory. Maybe that's the difference.

dd - My latches were painted as well and this is on a '72 coupe. I thought it strange to have them painted and thought it was just done when the car was resprayed after the accident in '78. Now it would appear they have been painted all along.

I have owned three Datsun 1200s over the past 20 years, two with original paint, and the original paint car's latches were not painted, but plated light gold. I also remember them all being plated at the dealerships in 1972-73, here in CA.
