When i purchased my 1200 the threaded portion of the shifter was cut off and a generic shift knob was Hot Glued on. I have a 56A 4 speed transmission.
I would like to know if the shifters can be purchased anywhere or what other Datsun shifters will work. Possibly 510?

shouldnt be hard to get hold of a second hand shifter that hasnt been cut

man head down to the wreckers should be easy to find one. might snap you a fair price though

Thank you guys, but here in Northern California it is next to impossible to find a 1200 at the wreaking yards. My best chance is finding a 280 fair lady or a datsun pick up (ute).

So I was wondering what shifters would work?

Northern California -- you can find the shifters there. Any B110, B210 or B310 shifter will fit (except B210 5-speed). The larger Datsun shifters won't fit.

I'll try to find one, I've never seen any at the wreaking yard. There is a b210 in town but it is driving daily!

Hopefully I can find one here local. If not I will source one from over seas!

There's a 1200 at the Rocklin pick n pull and 210 at Stockton and Windsor. California is the place for old Datsuns.
