#1 short stroke shocks for 1200 ute??
MaDUtE Posted on: 2013/4/24 4:10
Looking into re-doing my rear suspension setup to get rid of my lowering blocks whilst still being low.
Going to be reseting my leafs with the reverse eye main leaf aswell as adding a new leaf to stiffen it all up.

Now this is where im unsure of whats a direct bolt in for some short stroke shocks. Has anyone had experience with the suzuki seirra shocks? I have heard they work but not 100%. Open to all opinions guys

cheers!

I think in sedans you can use vs commodore Ute ones with a new bush and ferral pushed into it. See if it may work in a Ute.

I think on beeoneoneoh he had a write up on rear end setups, cant seem to find the page anymore, maybe someone can post the link as i am also keen as to slam the sheiiat outta my ute and still want decent travel. I think some people have ran VW shocks but not 100% sure.

Vw rabbit shocks are most common for 1200/120y struts about 65mm shorter than stock

I'm doing the exact same thing to my 1200 Ute at the moment. What year rabbit shocks? Much fiddling to fit? I'm getting my leafs reset this week too so I'm keen to find a pair for the rear.

Front: see Strut Insert Part Numbers under "VW" sections

Rear: You only need shorter-stroke shocks if the originals are riding fully compressed.

With reset leaves, would short-stroke shocks really help? Or just cause the tyres to rub when going over bumps?

If you cut down the ute spring bumpers, then you *may* need shocks with shorter compression length. But maybe not, has anyone actually measured it?
