Hi all, i am swapping a toyota 3SGE into my datsun 1200 coupe, its my first time doing an engine swap in a rear wheel drive, i need help! i am a newbie at this so please be patient :), should i put the engine with the gearbox in and then line it up for the engine foundations or just the engine? and also i want to swap the rear axle for a toyota LSD axle as only Toyota parts are commonly found in my country, what toyota LSD options do i have? e.g Cressida, Celica axles are common here
any help and suggestions will be greatly appreciated and PICS will be posted soon :) Cheers

Thank you unfamilia, i will get the diff, right now there is only availaibility of the celica diff LSD, i dont think the stock leaf springs will handle that weight or will they? i will also be lowering the car to quite some extend :), also the 3sge will have 4 throttle ITB's from a 4age 20v, and custom headers, next is cams and still stuck on going standalone or piggyback... plus 100 Shot nitrous :D :)

Can make anything fit.
You might need to widen the rear track to fit the whole axle etc. Weld the stock diff mounts to the new axle so it mounts like stock Get the tail shaft flange for it too. People get the w series 5 speeds to fit into 1200 tunnels.

Stock leaf springs will handle the weight of a 1200 no problem. You may use any Toyota rear axle assembly you wish.
We have little experience with using Toyota parts. Fit the engine together with gearbox into the car, then you will see how to fabricate the mounts. The engine/transmission angle must be the same as the pinion angle.
