When you try cranking does the starter motor get hot and the positive battery cable to the starter? Could be a broken starter motor internally. Try a spare starter motor

if your bypassing the ballast resistor and it starts, then it is probly the ballast resistor that's broken, try fitting a non resistor coil or replace the ballast resistor

Actually if the ballast is broken it would start but not stay running.
The solution is to wire it correctly. Start wire goes to coil + side, and Run wire goes to ballast resistor. Takes no money to fix this problem. Just put the wires in the right places.

The B310 wiring harness already has a bypass wire. I don't know the color, but for B210 it is Black with Red stripe. It can attach to coil + terminal or to ballast resistor.

The Start wire activates both the resistor bypass and the starter solenoid. It is supposed to do this.
The car will not start unless the solenoid engages. You can view topic.
