stock accelerator pedal assembly

Does anything physically hold the pedal to the metal rod?
I understand it screws to the floor but how does it attach to the metal rod that forms the assembly? Any photos would be appreciated theres only a few on the tech wiki. Cheers.

Thanks DD. any photos of the rubber stopper near the accelerator cable? I need to identify it from my bag of parts
