Thought I'd better ask: Can anyone suggest a suitable presure plate which will hold more torque than the original 1200 one?

My local clutch guy has a custom pressure plate, made with double diaphram springs. Only want's $140 for it.
Another option is to have the flywheel remachined to take a 200mm hd LD20 pressure plate, and run a clutch disc from a fwd sr20 primera.

First ensure the clutch is adjusted properly. If the is no play, it will slip.
A high RPM engine will usually have less torque, so not hard on the clutch unless you are applying s lot of throttle while letting up on the clutch pedal.
