#1 Floor mounted pedal box?
LoserMachine Posted on: 2014/1/25 4:47
Dose anyone know if using a floor mounted pedal box and using remote brake\clutch reservoirs will clear for side-draft crab setup on LHD 1200's? i will be trying to fit xs1100 bs34 bike carbs.

i do not have the skill to weld to relocate the master cly and a reverse mount pedal is to much $300 but the floor mount is only like $120-150.

Their are tons of floor mount pedals from $30 for single to $80 for double without the MC on eBay. With MC is a lot more. But I was looking at the wilwood pedals w/o MC for $140.

Didn't know you wanted Wilwood pedals. Some club.members use them on.the 1200, its in the same link as posted previously.

One I fitted to a racecar a few years ago
Much better quality though

Wilwood ones are alot deeper...more like 160mm + master lengths
So need very short legs ,st back seat , or cut holes in firewall to fit.

Not if your carbs are down at floor level ... see http://datsun1200.com/modules/mediawi ... des#Remote_Brake_Cylinder

I take it you are using the XS1100 carbs because you already have them? If you have not bought carbs already go with the FZR1000 or similar as they are down draft ( 45degreeangle). I'm using keihin flat slides and they clear the master cylinder no problem.. Using pod filters the side draft style bike carbs would likely clear the master as most are mounted very close to the cylinder head.
What ever style of pedals you opt for will need fabrication in order to mount them, I'd prefer the existing location for a variety of reasons. $150 isn"t enough savings for me to,warrant the extra work to switch to,floor mount pedals. I've had them on couple of single seat race cars but those were designed with them................... if you already have the XS carbs it would be cheaper to sell them off and get down drafts then to redo the masters.
