#1 fuel pump oil leak
Donovan1978 Posted on: 2014/6/20 8:09
Need some advice please I have a datsun 1200 motor that I have fitted a new mechanical pump to. I replaced the plastic spacer between the pump and engine. I used gaskets as well as sealant, but there is still oil seeping through. I tried tightening more, but the spacer broke and I had to get another one. Tried adding more gasket, but that also hasnt worked. Anyone else had this issue? Thanks in advance

Yes. If the internal seal is bad, replacing the fuel pump will fix it.

Not really. Are you letting the sealant cure before trying to test for leaks?
Most 3bonds etc are 24hour cure times for full curing

No, I didnt let it cure for that long. Maybe that is the issue?

Not sure could be. There is a relief valve for fuel from the mechanical pumps just make sure its not that.
With a new pump unlikely
