#1 14x7 +10... will they fit?
mark-1200 Posted on: 2014/6/24 12:21
hi everyone,

as the title states... will they fit?
I plan to use 155/55 R14 all round.

I have standard 1200 or 120y struts, not lowered yet and the guards, both front and rear have not yet been rolled.

I understand that they will most likely have to in order to fit when the car is eventually lowered.

I plan to lower the car about 2 inches eventually by shortening my struts and installing a coilover set. The rear I either plan to flip or reset.

I don't plan to use flares or any thing like that....

I have looked through tech wiki and did searches, but I couldn't find much in specifics to help...

any pics would be great!

your help is appreciated....

7 inch wide on fronts might need some massaging of the inner foot well area

lol not with tyres 26.1mm undersize he wont!

but it's a strange question in the first place - isn't the whole idea of that look to get wheels that don't fit??? you've already chosen tyres that don fit either the wheel or the car... :P

Once he lowers it he will. I had 175 50 13 and they hit too, its got to do more with the design of the floorpan corner

I wanted the wheels to sit flush with the guards and the have the wheels stretched for minimal body work...

So will it work?

155 is the same width as the factory 1200 tyres. No problem there.

155/55R14 is 20.7" diameter.
Compare to 155/80R12 = 21.8"

Since the 14s are smaller than stock, and same width as stock, they should fit perfect, if the right wheels are used.

Wheels 7" wide with +10 offset. I'm not 100% sure but I think these will be flush with the side of the body. So therefore tyres would normally rub. But since you are putting ultra narrow tyres on a 7" rim, and smaller diameter too, I think it will fit. Probably will need the flatten the inner lip of the guard. Do a test fit before buying.

175 tyre width can be a problem when lowered, even when shorter diameter than stock. Especially with stock castor setting.

155 width is same as stock and no problem as long as the tires are not too tall.

could only have been because you had deeper offset wheels and/or wider track due to Stanza struts or something. 185/60x13s are taller (standard diameter) and have no problems fitting on the usual +13to19 ish wheels with standard suspension.

155/55 R14 is 26.1mm smaller diameter than stock. On a +10 wheel on standard suspension there'll be heaps of clearance to the footwell.

ddgonzal used my picture of footwell mods required to fit 205/60x13 tyre on a 13x7 -7 offset wheel, and wider track of the stanza front end. Required big flares to cover it all:

That's nothing like what we're talking about here. The outer edge of the tyre in the picture would be at least 70mm further out than what he's asking about, and the tyre is 50mm bigger diameter than what he's planning to use.
