mig or tig..... turbo manifold under constructin

hi people building a turbo manifold for an A1400
I can mig and stick weld . but what is the best for home made manifold using buttweld angles and steam pipe tig or mig I can pay for someone here to tig weld if I have to ....... but if mig is ok I will do it myself which is the best thanks. moridat .

Mig is ok and quicker but tig is preferred looks much nicer and stronger.up to you really

I tacked mine together with a mig then had it professionally tig welded.

The contents of the manifold wont mind wether it is Tig, mig or arc.
Do whatever suits you best.

Go1200 migged mine and it's been perfect but as everyone has already said, Tig is best if you can afford it. The main thing to remember is the quality of weld on the inside of the manifold. Get in there with what ever u can and make sure there no slag waiting to come free and wreck your turbo. Good luck and post up some photos.

thanks for the input I think that I will mig it I worked as a welder for years the only trouble I have now is that I need a reasonable light source I will give it a go and see what happens I can only stuff it up.. then I will start again if it works I will post some pic,s we will see what happens.........???????????
