Rear View Mirrors

I've got a question on rear view mirrors. Mines are mounted on my door but they're so low I absolutely can not see anything other than the ground. Do I just have the wrong mirrors for my 1200 or are most door mounted mirrors, have an obstructed view?
Anyways, any recommendations on mirrors with better views? Thanks!
