Hi, im wondering what the laws are in NSW with regards to Cat converters on datsuns? Are all the guys with CA18,s & 4AGE engines etc running cats on there exhausts?
What about a A series with twins running premium fuel?

The only time u don't need a cat is when it didn't come out with one like early model vehicles but if u modify it by putting a different engine in it which came out with a cat then it is required to get it past engineering and pass a emissions test as well...

NCP national code says that equivalent replacement engines only need to comply with ADRs for the car. ADR 37 didn't start until 1981? so doesn't apply to B110. Further, a replacement A12 doesn't need to comply with ADR 37 even it is a newer engine.
Performance engine swaps are different. So if upgrading to an A14, the ADR of the engine year needs to be met. If upgrading to a CA18DE and the S13 required cats, then you need cats.
