Matto1kUte Posted on: 2015/3/24 15:05

1971-1978
* stainless grille
* black interior
* rectangular gauges

Is there anyway to narrow it down. Our laws here permit a commercial car b4 1976 may have its original motor turbo or super charged.

Yes, take the Chassis Number to the government and have them look up prior registration.

Chassis No. is stamped on the firewall below the left side cowl vent.

Is your battery box diagonally fitted?

Yep sure is. It has a coupe dash in it so I think that was fitted afterwards

I think pre-1976 has the angled battery shelf. But I could be wrong.

Matto, are you sure the ute is classed as a commercial vehicle? In QLD the engineer told me that it is a passenger car derivative and not a commercial vehicle - has something to do with the monocoque chassis.

And the "year" only matters to the government. So what is on the Title deed is what counts.

For buying parts it doesn't matter.
