#1 Not able to screw in the Air Filter cover
Avizhome Posted on: 2015/5/11 2:44
Hi Guys,
Thanks for your advice in advance. Always appreciate your helpfull tips and advice.
I am trying to screw on the top air filter cover however the screw that I bought online seems to be a bit short. Is there another part I am missing?
Kind regards,
Ron.

Go to the hardware store and buy a small length of all-thread M6x1.0 I believe. Then you can cut to size with a small hack saw.

Then use a winged nut and washer. Good to go. :D

Very common to have the threads stripped out if that has happened to yours, clean the hole with ether spray, and after it has dried, coat the rod with J-B Weld, insert it and let cure. It is a permanent solution.

looks stripped out to me, very easy to do with over torqueing. I usually get a 6x1mm heli-coil thread repair kit, then run the tap down the hole & install the threaded section. This is a bit more complicated than the J-B Weld, but I have never had much success with that sort of stuff, it usually sticks to the bolt, not the body. I can just about manage to drill & tape a hole reasonably straight, not leaning over too far.
