South Africans use the GX term VERY loosely. Take it with a pinch of salt.

Yeah just like most places. I've seen just about every normal part advertised as "GX" on eBay. This BW axle was probably used on the GX, but also on the Deluxe too i'm sure.

Datsun-Nissan South Africa made the 1200 GX up until 1975. With real twin carbs, 1972 grille and everything. It seems that these axles were manufactured locally in Johannesburg by the local Borg Warner division. Local hubcaps too, and Datsun 510 bumpers from the factory

Yes, theoretically one could argue that all parts are 'GX' on a GX model. But truth be told most are shared amongst the plane jane models also. General opinion is, is that parts that warrant GX title are unique to the GX name. This is further contradicted by the fact that GX exclusive parts are not really exclusive but also featured on GL and other(?) models.

Anybody have photos of the BW68 axle? I'd like to see the center cover plate, and especially any cast markings on the diff. These photos here you can't read what the marking say.
