datsun 1200 sedan cutting rear inner fender wells

Hey guys not sure who else has come across this problem but i am assuming that it is a known issue on the sedan when lowering it quite low
I have lowered my new sedan 1.5 inches and it now has perfect fitment and my wheels are perfect offset but what i didn't take into consideration is that the rear door tub rails actually go into the rear inner fender tubs completely and actually limit the travel room incredibly and now on even a small enough bump driving she scrubs on them. Now looking at the inside of the well it looks as if i can cut them and beat them flat and reweld them back to provide the extra clearance that the rear doors have obscured Can anyone shed some light into this further, never have this issue with the ute as it doesnt have rear doors

Sounds like the wheel are not the perfect offset. Yes this is a known problem with large tires and/or wheels offset too close to the outside of the car (which looks good, but rubs)

Oan had 225 rear tyres on his sedan, and at first they rubbed on the rear arch where it's indented for the rear door. He used a hammer to mod the inner arch. But it all depends on the wheel offset

From an old post gary_p said "take a ball pean hammer and start at the rear end of the bump where it is small. With lots of hammering and some finnesse you can invert the raised area and gain quite a bit of tire room. Just takes time and makes lots of noise"
Here is the place most likely to rub -- but on the inside:
