Just a quick question to all you datto fans...has anyone actually managed to install a sub in a 1200 ute??? If so how did you do it? The only way i could think (without wrecking the ute) would be to put one in the doors or take the centre console out and put an 8 inch there or something.

i dont have a ute but...
i was thinking, have you seen the parcel shelf some 1200s have under the glove box? if not go look at one maybe you could take that out and bolt in a box which had say a 10 inch woofer just pointing down towards passengers feet, wouldnt be a huge box but maybe enough for some 10 inches and not exactly prime positioning, but how desperate are you for bass found pic of my car showing parcel tray (in coupe) parcel tray to be replaced with doof doof

The only way is to get some of those "Bass-Engines" They work great. And take up only a little space. They work by making the whole car vibrate...This is bad if you have lots of rust holes filled with body filler (Bog).
You might be cruising and parts of the car will fall off ![]() The alternative is to make up a a tonnau cover out of water-proof chipboard, and use water-proof polypropylene subs. Then you'll have some "phat" BASS. Chris

what about cutting the wall bettween the two seats in the ute just to fit the SUB and have the box in the tray? (water proof of course)
would it get RWC? how hard to do?

What I've tried was to build boxes for 6x9 's and had them under my seats, worked fine until you really want to pump base then the air-space under the seats just is'nt enough and the base get distorted.

sorry to bunny the thread but does anyone look at the subject on the replying posts, i.e. did anyone notice the heading i put on the second post in this thread?
just curious as i went to another forum and didnt know what people were talking about sometimes as they put key info in that heading, seems a bit odd to me

Not sure if they have them down under, but an SAS Bazooka tube would likely be a good fit? The small 6.5" model is small enough to go behind the seat and it makes plenty of bass. Heck, if it'll fit behind the seat you could probably install 2.
