Ute: connecting main harness to rear harness

Can anyone show me how to connect the main harness on the dash to the rear harness for the rear lights, license plate lights, etc... on a 1200 ute?
I know there is a flat looking section of wiring that is hidden under the carpet but where does it connect to? I assume it is concealed in the body behind the cabin? Thanks.

The rear harness comes in near the bottom seat belt mount on the Drivers side (RH Drive). There should be a rubber grommet with a connector coming through it. This should plug into the flat multi-cable you mentioned, which is normally stuck down to the floor and heads to the main harness.

The main harness is the Instrument harness, no? Rear harness is called by Datsun "Tail Harness"
