That one on eBay looks like a Bosch Australia unit, like the ones fitted to aus-assembled 120Y
It also looks like it is internally regulated? If so minor wiring change might be needed

If anyone is interested,I had to change alternators to run all the electrics associated with turbo fuel injection and I used a Nissan Patrol unit, only req'd a pulley downgrade back to the standard one.

Theres 3 different datsun 1200 mounts. So depends what you have how you have to modify it. And yes its inernal reg so you have to change wiring to suit.
Easiest one to mount is if your 1200 has the cast mount on the drivers side. You can just grind it down on the back side to suit. If you have the steel folded plate style mount then you use spacers

Yes, you have a Late A-series (alternator goes on right side of engine). Late means 1974 or newer. On the early engines, alternator was on left side
You also have the cast iron mount bracket, so as 1200rallycar says, grind the bracket on the rear portion so that it fits the Bosch. Or you could use a Hitachi, which is 60A bolt-on (from most 1980s Nissan). Either is a big upgrade from the 35A Datsun unit EA Alternator Vs 1200 Alternator ![]() You can view topic.
