Performance Clutch

Just had my engine builder on the phone- the new setup is going great but there is now a problem with a slipping clutch.
To be honest I have always got away with a standard 1200 clutch setup, not being one for abusing the clutch or drivechain. Given that this car is sometimes used on the street but 95% of its life on the racetrack what are fellow racers using? I am aware of the Nismo button clutch setup but would that be any good for street use? There is also an Exceedy setup available from B Projects- would that be more suitable for my application? Cheers Dave

FOR SOME REASON THESE PRICES ARE EXPENSIVE - I,VE USED THE HEAVY DUTY ONE IN MY STREET/TRACK CAR (WORKED a15) AND AM ABOUT TO PUT ONE IN BEHIND MY STREET TURBO CAR - $270+GST FROM BURSONS SPARES
DONT KNOW ABOUT THE BUTTON CLUTCH. MOST PEOPLE I TALK TO SAY THEY CAN BE 'HARD WORK' ON A STREET CAR, BEING EITHER ON OR OFF, BUT WORTH IT ON THE TRACK. FOR STREET https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Exedy-HEAV ... 6475dd:g:zogAAOSwA4dWJYue FOR TRACK https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Exedy-HEAV ... 647194:g:QosAAOSw9mFWJYsi

Thanks for that. Do you know if the part number quoted on the Ebay add is the Exceedy part number? I'll try to track one down over here in NZ. Also do you know if they are balanced ex factory?
Cheers Dave

I've been using the Nissan 550Kg pressure plate with a standard clutch disc.
I don't even remember what brand of disc anymore because I haven't purchased one in probably 15 years. When we stripped various cars/motors I always kept the clutch disc if it was within tolerance. The one in the car now has at least 25 events on it. Granted the old motor only made 80whp and the A15 is putting putting out more than 110whp, additionally I'm only doing about 5-6 events a year and we do rolling starts. I'm also mindful of the clutch. I'd be reluctant to use a button clutch on the street. You can view topic.
