Intake&Exhaust fasteners to A series cylinder head

Sorting thru hardware for the intake and exhaust nuts&washers. The top center stud has a different diameter washer for the exhaust compared to the other thick washers. Is it a different shape or type of washer? Also does the intake have a flat washer or only a nut and lock washer. I think I have everything else correct. Thanks.

Ah fascinating. Datsun used several length studs over the years
the good news is that the washers have been the same Quote: The top center stud has a different diameter washer for the exhaust compared to the other thick washers. Is it a different shape or type of washer? * All nine studs use the same M8 nuts (diagram #8) * top five studs use the same M8 lock-washers (diagram #9) * bottom four studs use Yoke only (diagram #10, no lock washer)

Thanks DD. The top right and top left exhaust studs show an impression on the manifold of this same size yoke washer. That just gets a lock washer and nut? And the same with the top center stud, lock washer and nut only? This would explain why I am short on these yoke washers for 2 motors.

someone has put them out of order. I've never seem the Yoke used for any top stud, but only used where the intake/exhaust stud are shared
iNteresting that your cylinder head is drilled for both old and new bolt patterns (empty stud hole between the intake ports). What are the cast marks on the head? Here's the newer A-series version which uses 11 studs instead of 9 (Diagram and Part Nos. from B310/Datsun 210) * Nuts changed from Low-carbon steel to Medium carbon steel (11 required) * 14002E YOKE 14037-32200 replaced by 14037-N3600 buy at Nissan $2.08 each (for late A15 is 14037-P7100 discontinued. Early A15 used same as the others, difference unknown) * Top outside washers (14002F) changed to a plain washer 14037-E3000 instead of lock-washer (two required) * Other washers are same lock-washers as before (five top washers)

H95 head. So what does that mean with having both bolt patterns?

early heads had the 9-bolt manifold gasket pattern
later they used the 11-bolt pattern what it means is if you can use aftermarket manifolds * some heads were drilled and tapped for both patterns but the stud hole was empty * Datsun Competition explained how to drill the stud hole if necessary Attach file: 982_.jpg (23.99 KB)![]() You can view topic.
