50/40W original specification

The good news is that the headlight wires are heavy-duty 12 gauge (at least in the B110). This means they can handle the 75W bulbs. So no need to replace the headlight sockets and wires. However the main fusible link is only 20 gauge...

just add a relay to bypass the main harness and feed in power through an extra Fuse

Battery --> 20A fuse --> 20A relay --> to existing headlight socket (cut wire and splice in)

Use an inexpensive 20A relay from an old Nissan. Or buy a new inexpensive 20A relay. See Headlight Relay

I just did this upgrade for our Plymouth Duster.
Its just plug in!

Wiring Harness

Cheapest and easiest way to upgrade your lighting circuit. Now no high current needed through the light switch!

Wow, that's the way to go, even used parts will run more $ than that

Looks like it has a fuse on the red wires. Do you connect that straight to the battery cable?

Yes its a fused wire. Done in minutes. The only concern i had is with the quality of the relays, but i guess i will just replace them if they ever blow.

So can this be used to upgrade from sealed beam headlights to H4 halogen?

H4 halogens will plug into the orginal wiring. However the original wiring is not rated for the extra current flow. That eBay kit specifically says it works with H4 bulbs (100W/90W type). It will also work with 75W Halogen bulbs or even with stock-specification bulbs (50W/40W)

I might have to give it a go then. I have had a set of Hella halogen inserts kicking around in the garage for years....just have to find them now!

They should be an upgrade even if you use the standard bulbs as there will be more current available to the globes compared to the standard wiring harness.
