Hey guys,
Got a '72 521 pickup with the L16 motor in it...Im wanting to upgrade to a younger, more fuel injected motor. What kind of motor can I put in there with relative ease(ie..without having to whip out the cutting torch.) I just want to put a Inline 4 in front of my 4 speed. Maybe a Stanza Motor??? Thanks Gas P.S. Oh yeah by the way...I might just be interested in High Performance. What kind of Horse power and E.T's are you guys getting from your rides?? All I've run before are v8's for ET bracket, so let me know!! I havent had time to navigate through this site yet to see all of your rides.

521 Pickups will be more akin to the 510 Datsun.
So I'd be looking at the various 2 litre 4 cylinder engines. FJ20DET, SR20DET, CA18DET. If you want a bigger engine, a VG30DET(or DETT) would be cool. The RB Series (straight six) would be too long to be worthwhile. Most of the Turbo'd 1200/1600s do sub 13 second 1/4 mile passes. Some do as low as 8 second passes. Chris.

If you keep stock trans only L 18-L 20b. With L20 you may have air cleaner hitting bonnet
