Soon I'll be putting a ca18det in my 1200 ute, I want disk brakes, but which will be the best option

i decided ill be nice and tell you about them and how to put em in

this is off my own site

brake upgrades!

ive discovered a problem with this though, if you use the 1200 springs the ride height is slightly raised and positive camber (read: hanus understeer) results, you need to use lowered stanza springs, id go with king springs as opposed to cutting stanza ones. doing this you will have negative camber (read: awesome turn-in)

rallycar on your site you said you werent sure that 14x6 would get on to the stanza struts?

i want stanza struts but my mags are 14x6 i shouldnt have a problem?

(p.s the conversion seems pretty simple )

Hey Rallycar, do you also suggest the Stanza discs and calipers too? I want to race a sedan/coupe in CAMS club car 3J and want something thats going to withstand repeated stomps in the pedal coming down from speeds such as 200kph at Eastern Creek.
Do you suggest slotting the rotors, twin spot calipers? Something that doesnt give pad fade, boil the brake fluid etc etc.

if u wana use stanza struts and stuff but the disks and that arnt good enough go to dba and get custom made ones my dad got some we have never ever smelt the brakes since we did that and my dad cars is 2 and 1/2 tonne and we have the camper trailer on the back witch in 500kg and there all filled to the max so about 3 or more tonne and we go donw kangaroo valley and that is super steap and long if no one knows of it well its not super steap but its still steaps and wyndy

yeah 14x6 will be fine, i need to update my site with my more current knowledge

the disc and calipers (girlock) are good

but for a cicuit car id toss em, on the same page im pretty sure it has a conversion for hi-lux 4 spot calipers, this is what i have on my road car and they are f'n unreal

you use pintara VENTED discs, these need some machining to fit, both to open the centre and to thin the disc if required
and hi-lux calipers which also may need some machining of the body of the caliper for clearance

i did not install these my bro-in-law did, and if you have more questions about the install (if the info isnt on my site, dont really remember), just ask and ill find out, no probs

and something else thats on my site id recomend is the bluebird disc over drums for the rear if you have h160 or h190 diff (also recommended diffs to use )

and a sunny booster

for a circuit car actually, it would be good to do 240k struts

biggest prob with these is you need to change spring purch to fit smaller springs, but when doing this you mount the new perch on thread and make the struts adjustable ride height

some 240k struts have twin spot calipers already but id still be tempted to go hi-lux with vented discs (cant remember if 240k is vented???)

side note: both the hilux brakes and the bluey disc overs will not fit under 13" rims, 14" is minimum

pretty sure 200b struts are extremly similar if not the same as stanza struts, but dont quote me

i figure if ya gonna change the discs you may aswell do it properly

but hey good suggestion if it is a straight bolt up
