I think he should give in. and register his name under a domain other than .com.

All US Nissan customers have to go to some site called nissandriven.com or something lame like that.

so this guy has been using the popular name of Nissan to look attractive and I am sure Nissan devoted drivers wold go to him in Support of the name, but this is so insane and I read the support letters its a reversed discrimination act I think...terrible....I don't know what to believe really

Go to http://www.nissan.com and you'll see something about it.

If he was using this to:
a. Mislead people looking for the car company and sell them stuff or whatever
or
b. Use his site to promote auto-related services
or
c. Simply using this to "blackmail" Nissan Motor Corp. into getting a big fee for the name rights

... then the US courts probably would block him. Otherwise he'd win and Nissan might offer him big money for the name rights ... it's happened both ways many times before.
