dual staged boost controllers...home made

Hey Guys.
My old man is designing and making dual stage boost controllers. They will be switchable in cabin. If they are good and cheap I'll advertise them here. My old man knows lots of people in the pneumatic industry as he was one of the few teachers in Sydney over the past 5 years doing courses on pneumatics and hydraulics through TAFE. So he has great contacts on getting the parts cheap. He's building a prototype first, based on two regular fixed boost controllers (set to different levels). I'm looking into designing an electronic "pulse-width modulation" solution, using 555 timers and standard mass produced solenoid valves from the wrecking yard. It'll work on the principal used by factory computers to adjust the boost levels depending on fuel quality. Chris

These really are piss-easy to make. I made one like you are talking about using variable pulse-width modulation. The only problem I found is that the solenoid valve I needed cost about $150 each.
The two fixed stage ones can be made for about $100 in about 30 minutes. My home-made ones are all over Orange
