what advantages does a datsun 1200 (if any) have over a ford escort as far as a club/classic race car goes.

Escort window winders rotate back to front and the indicator stalk is on the wrong side. GO THE DATSUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

lighter weight, decent front suspension geometry, alloy head...
The escort however has a huge range of off the shelf go-fast bits. You can buy alloy hubs, disk kits, LSD's , any gearbox or diff ratios you care to name, quick racks, the list goes on... Take the best of both worlds, and use the datto body and engine, with the escort diff, box, struts and steering rack...

How much money do you want to throw at this project???
If you've got plenty, go Escort because there are tons of competition parts If you have'nt, go Datto cos you'll have more fun!!
