It's good for saving space. A Nissan Urvan clutch master does this. Many FJ powered 510s do this, because of the large intake manifold on the FJ20DET. It then would use fixed line to near the slave cylinder, and a rubber(can be braided) brake like to the slave cylinder to take up movement in the gearbox under engine load. Easy.
