Hi - I've just joined the site because I have been around dattos since I was 2 weeks old and my Dad drove me in his 240Z with twin webers. Since then I have been taken to school in Datsuns - sometimes in a 1200 coupe race car with only one seat. My sister and I sat on the floor up the back and tried not to let the teachers see us. Now I have my own Sunny with A12 and I have been driving that in the paddocks on my Grandad's farm. I can't wait to go racing and already have an A15 to put in. Anyway this is a cool site and datsuns rock.

This is what I like to see, start them early and begin the journey that is the brotherhood of the datsun.

You'r dad deserves a medal, and welcome to the site, you will find much knowledge within the hallowed pages of datsun1200.com for thier are those who know much.

The life long addiction has begun............

(god i'm full of crap sometimes )

It must be true, that how you start is how you go.
I drove my wife to hospital at 5am for the birth of No.1 son in my wifes restored [with improvements] '68 Datsun 1000 two door. I brought them home in it too, so his first car ride was in a Datsun.
He's now 18 & drives a Skyline.

The same thing with No. 2 son, except that it was in my '68 4 door with GX stuff. He's now 16 & has a very nice 120Y

My daughter was born 15 mins after a 130kph ride in the 4 door at 3am, but at 14 years old, she hasn't picked a car yet, but the pattern has been set.

The only reason that the two door was sold was because of the growing family & it made way for another Datsun, a Bluebird wagon.

Welcome aboard tearup, your in for an exciting ride.
Chris

Well, in 2 years (when I'm 12) I will be at the legal age to race, I can already reach the pedals and always go to Eastern Creek and other tracks. One day I want to put a CA18det into my sunny but first it will be an A15 with Twin Webers, racing clutch, roll cage and Mag wheels. My favourite Playstation game is Gran Turismo but there are no 1200s but at least there is a 240Z!!

Sounds like you were raised correctly! When I got my first car at 16 years old, a 72 Datsun 1200 coupe, I started working on it immediately. It had a 4 point roll bar, A12 w/32-36 Weber DGV, and 2.25" exhaust w/glasspack muffler. When my youngest brother was born and I got my license at 17, I took him cruising with me almost every day, he loved it! We've done that for years now and all he talks is cars (mostly Datsun 1200) and now he is 9 years old and knows more about cars than most 25 year olds, it's awesome! He can't wait for me to come home and take him racing or cruising in my 69 Buick Station Wagon....neither can I!!!
