does the datto 1000 engine a10 i believe its called have a welsh plug at the back of the engine??? as my 1000 seems to be leekin water in between the gearbox and the engine and its not comin from the head??? thanks in advance

for a quick answer:

i'd be 90% sure it does as all other a-series do have, it's jus i've never tickled an a-10 before

some other 1000 buff will confirm either way later i pressume

According to my parts book, that welch / core /freeze plug [pick one] is called a "taper plug" & it goes by the part number 00933-15000 for the 50mm one & 11019-32200 for the 44mm one. One of these is the one for the cam bore, but i do not know which one.
If you hoist the engine out to replace this plug, then replace them all,.... with brass ones. I think Repco still list these as a kit.


While you have them all out, give the coolant galleries a bit of a clean out with a suitable screwdriver & a hose. No point in doing half a job.

ive just changed all mine, 50mm is the welsh plug and 44mm is the cam bore, you also have 3 35mm plugs on the side of the block.
