Has anyone got or seen any of these funky old school mirrors that fit in the middle of the edge of the front guards on 1200s? Im interested in obtaining a set of these for my wagon as i think they would make it look ultra stylish

Will pay whatever if someone has a pair.

Cheers boys.

I think that the law was changed to make them illegal by the time the 1200 hit the market, for safety reasons, so you are not likely to find any originals here in Aus.

If you DO source a pair, you will always run the risk of some savvy cop or registration inspector doing you over for them.

I don't remember if our 1600's had them, but they were gone from the 180B's.
1000's had guard mirrors, but not the bullet type.

If you talk to 2332owner very nicely, he might be able to help you out.

I only have a left hand one (fresh in NOS box)..ex Ireland Nissan.

I'm on the lookout for a right one..driver side.

It's round, still unsure if it's 1200, could be '68 510 SSS...

Chris

If it's collapsible..shouuld still pass rego.. The one I have is sprung and ready to collapse on impact...mine passed blue slip with no rear mirrors on the doors.

The mirrors in the picture look to be Datsun 1000 items. If they actually ARE 1200 items then they would have been styled off the earlier mirrors.

These round wing mirrors:

R 96301-21001
L 96302-21001

Newer Part Number, not backwards compatible part number (try this second):
R 96301-21002
L 96302-21002

Definitely 1200 part, up to about Oct 1972 anyway.
