hay i have my ute of the road now as i have lost my license. :(
i have booked my ute in to get a new manifold made for new Td06 19g turbo and am wanting 2 upgrade the trottle body i have found a 80mm throttle body that suits sr20 will it fit on a ca18det if not what will be a suitable upgrade.. or am i better of getting original machined.. any advise would be great

What about quad throttle bodies i know that always on the cards with EFI 4's, i dunno a thought.
or a VN 5.0L they're bigger

Hey Dvldat I had mine machined out ect ect looked the goods. Steve Newing at speed technology did it for me.
To tell the truth it didnt make one bit of difference in power or drivability so in my opinion save your $150+ to spend on something else.
It may be differnet if your using a huge turbo with lots of boost but with 20psi and 400hp GT25 it did jack shiet.

An engine will only flow a finite amount of air at maximum engine speed. The throttle body should be able to flow this amount of air and maybe 10% more.

By fittting a larger throttle body all you do is lose throttle sensitivity. Maximum air flow is reached earlier in the opening of the throttle body.

feral is once again right on the money
i had a VL throttle body on my a15 and all it did was give me was full throttle in about 1.5" of pedal movement
a blast to drive for a couple of weeks but the novelty wares off
