I picked up a rebuilt A head on ebay for
US$ 39. I can't find any ID # on it but it has two sets of # cast into it 990 and 409 on one side. I looked at the Head section here but it only says the A14 had# 990 and 454? It also only has three coolant holes below the intake ports not four?

Any idea?

Isn't there an H number cast into the top of the head?

I too have a head with no h# on it . And the info bought up by the searhbar is not conclusive.

I looker all over again, even with my kMart Specs adn can't find anything. IThe head has valves on, would it be under the springs?
The valves also say In & Ex and it seems to have a chevy bowtie on it? Could some one have put chevy valves on it ? Ithink that the intake was 36mm and the exhaust 29mm

sounds like the normal valves, they all have that symbol, the h number is usually on the top of the head on the manifold side of the valve springs for piston 4 i think, not under the springs

It's not a bowtie symbol I've seen them too and it's a Nissan symbol

I musn't be looking in the right place. I just pulled off the valve cover on my A12a and all I could find were the two sets of numbers 728 & 406. The head ID number isn't on the surface where the gasket for the valve cover goes, is it?
