my brake lights stopped working this afternoon, checked the bulbs and they are all fine maybe my stop switch? i checked it with voltmeter and was reading something...
if its not the stop switch it should be the ground right? i checked that as well...
no broken connection or anything that i know of
the rear lights are working (when parking and headlights are on)
Please advise ASAP as this is my everyday car
will try to find a stop switch anyway tomorrow at the wreckers, do you just turn it counter clockwise with the hex bolt attached to it to remove it?

brake switch: check it. Pull it out and check it switches by testing with a multimeter.
check you get 12v to the brake switch. It should always have 12v to it.
check your fuses.

It's not complicated.

Don't buy a switch, unless it's bad.

1. Check for 12V on one side of the switch.
If not, it's not the switch ...
2. Disconnect the wires, and check for 0 ohms resistance when the pedal is down. If it doesn't go to 0 or only sometimes goes to zero, yes get a new switch. Go to the wreckers.
