just wondering what mods to a CA18DE are good that people have done to get good power gains

i am thinking of either twin carbies and extractors for old school style or perhaps quad throttle injection

dont want to go turbo and dont really want to do anything internal but dont realy want to stick with the factory setup.

any ones experience will be greatly appreciated

regards

CA18DE is ok standard in a 1200.

The best way to get gains is to accurately blueprint (balance) the engine, get some higher lift cams and raise the compression.

There is lucky to be $500 difference in cost between a DE and a DET. I doubt that your CA18DE with $500 of mods will beat a stock CA18DET.

Unless you are going to race it, then mods aren't worth it.

Use a Turbo for the best power gains. If you aren't old enough (insurance) or don't have the cash, then save the money and put it into a term deposit. When you are ready to do the job properly, you'll be prepared.

As I don't know what you plan to use the car/engine for I'm not really going to be able to suggest anything.

Please fill in your location in your profile.

Unless you've tried a turbo, saying that you don't like them is just dumb. Turbos are great.

You can either do it twice poorly or do it right once. It's up to you.
