No way!! That's just not cool! I talked to that guy not much more than a year ago, I hope he's not gone. Everytime I got on the phone to ask him a simple question about ordering a part, we'd end up talking for like an hour about Datsuns, Nissans, and the A series, etc. He has seen and done a wealth of things with old and new Datsuns, he knows a LOT of stuff...it would be a damn shame if he's gone. Can anyone confirm this rumor?!!

I'll see if I can find the guy who posted it and make sure.

According to the person who originally told me, he did pass away last month. He apparently had terminal cancer.

He will be missed.

I spoke with one of the guys from the shop and he forwarded this email to me.

Quote:
It is with great sadness that I can confirm the rumor. My friend David passed away last month from complications of optical cancer. My name is Rick, and I was the principal builder on Dave's M3. It is also with regret that I say that the company, Malvern Racing, will no longer be in busniess. I have been placed in charge (by the executer of the estate) to sell off the stock of parts at the shop. We do still have a large amount of Nissan parts, some BMW stuff, and various old school racing items. Needed orders can be placed at Malvern's website or I can be reached at rwok@roadfly.com.

And remember the three rules of motorsports:
Never enough money
Never enough time
Nothing ever fits

I miss my friend very much.
Rick

That is sad news, I too talked to him about a year ago, about a A series motor. I have his catalog and I was to have a engine build by him, once enough money was saved, but, too late.
Well, we can make him happy up there by taking care of our Datsuns.
