I'm trying to fit a Skyline R32 GTS steering wheel on my Datsun 120Y, but I ran into a problem, the center bore of the Skyline steering wheel is bigger than the steering column on the 120Y and as a result the spline like teeths are not matching up, what can I do to accomplish this modification? Any ideas will be appreciated.

You would have to weld the end of the steering shaft of the r32 onto the 120Y after cutting the 120Y spline off. Im sure the R32 wheel would not be able to fit onto a boss kit designed for a 120Y.

hey,
take the car to an engineering place and ask them to make you up a gear that is an interfereence fit onto the 120Y shaft on the inside, and them on the outside of the gear have them cut teeth for the skyline wheel. You will then need to scure the gear into the wheel with grub screws etc. just an idea but worth it if you really want that skyline wheel in. And not it wont fitt any kind of boss kit as that is the idea of a boss kit to replace the fitting that is built into the factory wheels. Hope that helps.

Try a GTiR pulsar steering wheel, i'm sure the steering shaft is the same. If you are going to modify anything, do it right, you dont want the steering wheel to come off in your hand on a 100Kph sweeper now do you?

as for fitting it to 120y.
take out the back and use as a frisbee (correct spelling?) because if the splines dont match up forget it!! find a whel that does.your life is worth more than a cheap wheel!!!
